I've had the opportunity to take public transport in quite a few big cities now and I'm going to give you my feelings on accessibility and try to explain a few little things you should know.

When it comes to metro accessibility, the gold medal for worst city is undoubtedly the City of Paris.

There are almost no elevators in the subway and corridors are full of stairs.

For the most touristic city in the world there is a lot to do.

On my last trip through Paris, I had to walk to Montparnasse after leaving the RER because it was easier, even though Parisian sidewalks are not accessible.

In short, the most beautiful city in the world except for the disabled.

As an aside, the French TGV is not flat-bottomed, unlike many trains abroad, which complicates things.
